Spring in Vermont is a beautiful time. In honor of the first day of spring, gallery co-owner and photographer Loren Fisher shares more about what makes spring in Vermont unique and one of his favorite spring photos in this week’s blog post.

As spring rolls in, the snow and mud disappear, color begins to re-emerge in nature, and flowers begin to sprout everywhere as the Green Mountain State transforms into a vibrant green landscape. Loren particularly enjoys the bright green grass and budding trees that are prevalent all over the state. And, as the weather gets warmer, getting out into the forest is easier, and a sense of newness surrounds everything.

One of Loren’s favorite things about spring is when the Lupin wildflowers begin to appear. They don’t stick around long, but there are several places around Woodstock where fields are overtaken by the tall, lively flower. Most Lupins around Woodstock are purple, but every so often you’ll see some pink and white ones sprinkled in.
